The Cancer Variant Interpretation Group UK (CanVIG-UK) was established in 2017 and now has >100 UK members, with representatives from each of the regional molecular genetics laboratories of the UK and Ireland.
Working in conjunction with international gene-specific expert groups, we evaluate and generate data to improve clinical interpretation of variants in cancer susceptibility genes.
This link below will take you to the CanVIG-UK specification of the ACGS Best Practice Guidelines for Variant Classification, consistent with the original guidelines but referencing data inputs specific to cancer susceptibility genes. Evidence and guidance are dynamic; regular updated versions of the CanVIG-UK specification will be posted here and on the CanVIG-UK website (https://www.cangene-canvaruk.org/canvig-uk).
